Beyonce Formation tour Shirts

Beyonce came to Minneapolis.  I am not one to go to big shows, but my friends and I call eachother #wearebeyonce. It came about going to a dance showcase. I had to go to the bathroom so bad, and my friends told me it was to the left.  Since rushing I ended up in the dancer only bathrooms.  When I came out there was a dance group huddled together I almost ignored it until i heard them say "we are beyonce!" It kept getting louder and louder. "We Are Beyonce, WE ARE BEYONCE! WE ARE BEYONCE!" I found great amusement in this ran back and told my friends immediately of the wonderful thing I saw.  When they came out to dance all their songs were Beyonce! That same week my friend changed our facebook chat group to #wearebeyonce. Since then we call eachother beyonces.  Such as "let me ask the beyonces about what is happening", "oh the beyonces are going here" I think you get the idea.
So when Beyonce's tour on sale of course I felt like I needed to go.
Of course with this event I wanted to make tees.  I get it I should want to save up for a tour tee but I really wanted something customized. With lithographs and Stencils I loved how these shirts came out! A little faded and highs and lows I love the vintage feel with still being Beyonce appropriate.

Fashion Illustration: Red Dress

Hello Everyone, hope you are ready to start off this next week.  I have a treat for you! I was asked recently to participate in Minneapolis's Red Dress Collection for the American Heart Association, yes those are wings. and yes I am excited to get started on this dress! This is done in markers and pencil.  I liked to go with a darker red color because the wings will be made out of balloon material called mylar. The dress itself will be a heavier jersey material.

Leather Purse!

I should take some photos with someone wearing this but oh well! I finished a leather purse complete with hardwear. I had some trouble with some thread tension but this experiment i would say is successful.  It has brass rivets grommets and snap.  The lining is polyester and the shell is lamb leather. So Yeah I am  excited it's done!!! :)

Sister's Present

My sister got married recently, and as a result of using sequins I made 2 pieces for her to hang on the wall.  Since I always do things for other people, this is probably more girly than what I would make myself for my own apartment.  I dyed the fabric myself.  Then painted with acrylic and hand stitched the sequins on. I was hoping the zeros would look a lot like wedding rings. I hope you enjoy!

Fashion Illustration: Turkish Trousers

Hello Everyone, I haven't posted for a while because of all the trips and events this summer!
I am hoping to share some of them with you, however I did manage to draw a quick sketch of some shiny Turkish Trousers. The thing I love about these pants, western culture picked these up as something that women can exercise in.  During this time frame women's outfits were primarily dresses. Being as the first accepted pants for women to wear makes me love them even more!

That's it hope you guys enjoyed! Thanks for reading! see you next time my little creators.

Disco Helmet

Today I present to you with a recent project I did, It's not the cleanest prettiest thing I have made but it was a joke gift for my friend's 21st birthday party.  His favorite movie is Boogie Nights, and since he has a disco ball already I decided to make him into a disco ball. My friend was going to buy vintage skates but that didn't happen. So he wore the helmet all night it was a great time.

Directions:
Buy a helmet sand it down, try to find one that looks like a horse riding helmet.
Buy a lot of mirror tiles.  I would mark off areas for it but I obviously did not and super glued it to the helmet. Then another suggestion I did not do, use caulk.  Then glitter glue inbetween and now you have your super duper cool helmet!!!!!

That's it hope you guys enjoy because this present was AWESOME!
See you next time creators!

Denim love

Sometimes I obsess over textiles. It's one of those things I really enjoy about working in the design role where it's a very important part of designing process. So Today I am sharing my current findings of denim photos.  I just love how this fabric can be manipulated so much and yet keeps amazing structure.

TBT: CARTOONS

I personally love animation of any sort.  I think what I love about it is that it can define all physics.  more importantly someone spends their entire days just doing animations for this as well.  It amazes me that people spend so much time and effort on making these lovely things for us to watch.  With that I leave you with three of my videos on cartoons I personally Love!

Hope you enjoy, see you next time my little creators!

Throw Back Thursday: School Project

I am in the works of gathering wonderful outfits for all of you. So instead of showing you an old movie. I present a snapshot of a project I did.  The criteria was take a mega trend and come up with a collection based off of that. The thing I love about this collection is it's all knitted! Talk about super comfy work wear.

I hope you guys liked this little different approach.  I actually had to redo all these croquis again because I didn't back up and my flash drive broke.  Don't worry I cried a ton with those 10 hours of work no sleep cost me.  It took me a while to understand how much I actually did like this project because doing women's wear isn't my favorite thing to work on.

Do you guys have any projects that you finished and loved?
See you next time my little creators!!

Graphics: Steamwear

Some family members approached me about graphic tees for girls. Stem stands for Science, technology, engineering and math.  It is a program to encourage kids especially girls to participate and be interested in this as a career.  So if my family starts selling them I'll let you know where to get them! So for now enjoy my graphics!

Let me know which ones are your favorites! I hope you guys enjoyed these graphics

Jungle Dress: Fashion Illustration

Occasionally you find inspiration in the most interesting places.  I found this image on google plus! I love the shine and the movement. I took a chance and decided to draw it. I didn't know who did this at first but googling is amazing and I was able to figure out where it was from! I hate not giving credit to where it needs to be given.

New and improved chairs!

So this is a quick before an after. I ordered these chairs off of overstock before I got my kitten. Since they are vinyl I knew the little holes would show up.
For the last year I had been searching for a perfect fabric.  After searching for an hour at an amazing warehouse fabric store in Minnesota (SR Harris) I found the perfect one. For my first upholstery project I think I did pretty well.  Mostly the fabric is pretty forgiving and my cat seams to enjoy it.

Now before I leave you, have you done any weird projects?
Let me know below!
Hope you guys enjoy!! See you next time my little creators!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

What's better than thanksgiving than some party favors?
I made paper turkey glasses, so may people have been asking where did you get the idea?
It started with Thanksgiving apparel and having a Photo Booth and ended with these perfect party treats! Honestly my mind goes somewhere and ends up with an amazing idea.
So I found some ray ban cutout glasses had some illustrator fun and came out with the perfect thanksgiving treat!
Honestly, what was I thinking? Everything hilarious that's what :)

Maybe I need some angry eye pie glasses.  Who knows, maybe I will never make something as radical again.  I would like to claim myself as a genius, but I've probably just watched way too many episodes of Gilmore Girls recently.

I just made a template and cut it out with scissors, my friend later went in with a sharpie to fill in the white if you want to make it look fancy but after cutting out 19 of these my hands hurt.
Hope you guys enjoy!! See you next time my little creators!!

TBT: GRIMES!

Did I ever mention how I am obsessed with this lady. She not only has super cool style, music and art style but she has awesome advice on being a boss. Can I just say she is super smart too? She was studying Neuroscience. Bless her heart, I would never be that patient to do something so tedious.
I did a drawing video not too far back, but just enough to throw back.
I think why I love her so much, is she is so well rounded in the arts it inspires me as well.  Some of my friends say I do everything so there's that connection.  Besides having a full time job I try to do videos when I can. I also sew a lot and do side graphic projects for people.  Currently my list is reupholstering dining room chairs, designing graphic tees for my cousins kids, making a dress for xmas for my sister, making a leather bag, knitting my mom an infinity scarf, thinking what to make for my next video, and of course working full time in the fashion industry. So when I don't make videos don't think I am being lazy!

So now I will leave you with some fun images of her!

Fashion Illustration Suno SS15

This new drawing had to be stopped in the middle because my camera battery ran out, but it also was probably the most time consuming one to make a video.  Not only that I try to do my own designs so it was super fun drawing someone's dress I loved.  Suno had an amazing SS runway, and I wanted to share it in my own way!

click to enlarge and of course here is the video to show how i did this :)

Play Poster

Recently, I was asked to do graphic work for my friend who has been directing for a new play.  It is such a fun thing to see her work so hard while living in NYC. She is the same one I visited for Memorial Day weekend. The play is a dark edgy comedy it has a circus theme to it so in the populous NYC, I thought a poster that captured that and was striking would be eye catching.  I worked super hard on both the website logos and art as well as the play poster!!

Check out the website HERE

I hope you guys liked my work!

Fashion Illustration: Ball Gown

So I understand this is a bit late to put on here, but here you go! I did this as a ball gown and wanted to show ruffles and some lace.  It was a very quick illustration. It was for an Art trade.  Occasionally I love getting a spur of the moment project. Lately it feels like all my projects are spur of the moment!
I enjoyed editing this one, I like the title pages and the transitions I have been playing with.  I need to buy some music I can use though.

MN4MN Runway Show

In August I submitted an entry to do a dress for the new fashion show MN4MN through my job with Target Corp.  I had about a month and a half to get supplies and work through any problems.  Honestly I was super happy to do it, but the attention on me made it stressful (Target blog post).
Plus my parents came into town that was fun but I had to get everything prepped for them! AH!

Here is a bit of what I submitted as my initial ideas! Below is my finished garment!!
It was a blast to do!! Thank you Lisa Castro, Kirsten Berg, and Nicole Nordeen for everything!

I haven't seen the professional images yet but I hope you liked!
